Actress Carrie Bernans suffered several serious bone fractures in a multiple car accident that occurred in New York during a police chase in which eight other people were injured. The 29-year-old performer also works as a stunt double and has participated in productions such as ‘Black Panther’ and the new musical version of ‘The Color Purple’. Fortunately, her representative has confirmed that she is stable and that at the time of the accident she was not accompanied by her young son.
Carrie was outside the Chirp restaurant in Manhattan when a black Mercedes jumped the sidewalk and struck three pedestrians, including her, before crashing into two parked vehicles. The 44-year-old driver had been involved in an altercation with his co-driver, a 34-year-old woman, a few streets away and fled when police officers intervened to order him to get out of the car. The man has been arrested, but for now he remains in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital.
Carrie’s mother has shared several very graphic photos of her daughter on Instagram. In the images, the interpreter appears lying in the hospital bed, with a bloody and swollen face, and several broken teeth. “She’s still in a lot of pain and she can’t answer calls right now, but I appreciate all your messages,” her mother said to reassure all of her co-workers.
